I would love to find a durable, easy to apply boot that isn't too clunky. So I have been afraid to try other boots. Easycare was very nice to deal with and let me exchange them for Epics, which I had already tried before and never had an issue with (other than the usual expected issues, hard to get on, broken cables and stuff). I found them bulky and the soles were cracking after a few rides. Well, I tried the OLD Old Macs, but not the new ones. I have never tried the boots you mentioned. I am using Epics but hate how I have to trim or rasp my horse's hooves to keep them fitting towards the end of the trim cycle. I will be watching this thread with interest. How forgiving are they and how do they allow for hoof growth? I like that the New Mac has a strap inside that goes around the ankle to prevent it getting blown right off & potentially lost, but it appears bulkier than the other as well. My mare has a slightly longer toe (which could be why the Bare doesn't work for her), which is why I am also avoiding the Easyboot Glove, since everyone claims that there is little allowance for flare, toes or growth but otherwise it sounds like a good boot. Won't be putting huge miles on them but wouldn't mind something that could hold up nonetheless. I ride mostly on gravel but some grass, hills & mud as well.

I am looking for a bit of info from people who use the above 3 boots to get a better idea of which one would work best. The Epic does better, but is still difficult to get on Very hard to get on & off and does not adjust well to my mare's hoof shape, leaving a gap at the top and allows gravel to get in (I need them for her tenderness on gravel roads atm, so this is not a good feature)

I currently have been trying the Easyboot Bare and the Epic, and find the Bare to be a write off. So I've been looking into boots for my Fjord X Quarter Horse mare and have narrowed it down (I think) to 3 different styles the Easyboot New Mac, the Renegade or the Cavallo Sport.
